It’s that time of the year again – time to start thinking about the Iron Acton Christmas Windows Trail. Last year was so well supported we have been asked to expand the route to include Algars Drive, Chilwood Close and Nibley Lane and to keep the window displays in place for a week. By doing this it is hoped that those who do not attend the Christingle Service will be able to join in too, with a longer trail some people may want to do some of it later in the week.

The week will start with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies after the Christingle Service (Sunday 8th December 4.00 to 5.00) and finish after the Carol Service the following Sunday.

Answer Sheets will be available after the Service at the Church and also at The Lamb and The White Hart, they will be available at the Pubs for the whole week.

Prizes will be given to the 3 Windows most liked by the public and to the person who gets the most correct answers (If more than one there will be a draw).

This year, the theme is “Christmas Song” or “Christmas Carol” and the answer sheets will have the title of the displays on them and people will be asked to write the correct number by the title. Last year there were 39 Windows/gates/cars/gardens that took part. However, there were still some “dark spots”. It would be amazing if the whole village could be festive. If you don’t feel you want to be part of the trail maybe you could just decorate a window? If you have “windows to spare” why not ask someone who does not live on the route if they would like to do one? Two of my windows can be decorated by others.

It is important this is done by December 1st to give time for the answer sheets and numbers to be prepared. Numbers will be given out on Friday 6th December.
